Question Draining my coolant...?

This weekend im going to be bypassing my heater core on the engine side (eliminating my heater core).. in order to do that i need to drain all my coolant which i know i can do on the bottom of the radiator.. my question is on a SC300 when you eliminate the heater core how much should i fill the car up with coolant ( it should be less then if i still had heater core right?)

And other then the bottom of the radiator is there another place i can drain the coolant from?

Thanks!!!!!

Actualy if you are connecting the hose from the engine bay ,you dont need to drain coolant, just unhook the hose and hook them the way you were planning. The coolant wil come out but no big deal, just add more in the radiator.

That would make things easyer!!

since the core will be eliminated wont i need to add or remove coolant to compensate for whats left in the heater core?

Just check the radiator,if its not full then just fill it all the way untill you can see the coolant.

WOW.

little has anyone mentioned... you want to top off your coolant with the engine running, and for awhile that is.

many try driving the front wheels on some blocks to elevate the front, to help air pockets escape. I personally have invested in a spill-free funnel (google it)...

have the engine running with the radiator cap off, and just keep topping it off when ever possible, coolant will most-likely spill out, thats air pushing it out. After about 10mins of idling with the occasional rev or two, install the radiator cap, and top off your coolant resevoir, dont be afraid to go well above the full line. This will help the car suck in any additional coolant needed if there happens to be any remaining air-pockets, and it will not hurt the engine if you over-fill the coolant resevoir.
