Default Who has replaced a sc400 radiator???

Hi,

Radiator seems to have a leak that is located behind the Fan assembly so I have decided to replace it myself.

Can anyone who has done this before give me a quick "write up" on how to properly remove the radiator??

I just don't want to start removing parts and then realize I didn't need too.
I searched on here and many people just say "Its pretty easy" but never elaborate on the procedure. Its like 10 degrees outside so I would like to have an idea of what I am doing before getting started. I crawled under the car today to see where the leak is coming from and there appears to be a decent amount of parts that may or may not need to be removed to complete this project???
Any help is appreciated??

Don't remember exactly, but start by removing the hoses off of it. Then remove the sensor I believe that's at the bottom. Then, proceed to have fun and jerk that ***** around until it comes out. Granted that's what I did, and my father helped me with it, so I would suggest having someone assist you.

** Use the camera to take as many pics as you can so you'll remember how to put them back
- Remove the radiator hoses
- Remove the hydraulic fan and its hoses
- Disconnect the tranny hoses at the radiator's bottom
- Disconnect the temp sensor at the radiator's bottom
- Remove the steering fluid reservoir if it gets in the way
- Remove the coolant reservoir on top of the radiator
- Unbolt the radiator brackets on top of the radiator. 1 for each side with 2 bolts
- Pull the radiator straight up. Don't lose the 2 round plastics feet underneath the radiator. 1 on each left and right side

**Put everything back in the order that you took it out. Make sure the new radiator feet are inserted securely in the holes at the bottom. No movement at all. You may need to refill the hydraulic fan pump with tranny fluid if you disconnected the hoses
- Refill the tranny
- Refill the steering pump if you disconnected the hoses. Good luck!

How does the fan come off as one piece?? Thats my main concern because the parts are pretty rusty and I dont want to end up breaking any of the fan components while jerking the radiator out!

I never removed the fan assembly. I just disconnected it from the radiator, and shifted it forward while prying out the radiator.

well.....got the radiator replaced today......was sorta a pain in the ***!

While removing the bottom radiator hose clamp I bumped into the A/C line and guess what.......the line must have cracked a little and now it is leaking pretty bad.......I had to breath in FREON while I completed the job.

Next time I think I will just take it somewhere!

Sorry to hear that. Check with the junk yards to see if they have a replacement.
