I honestly want to keep my auto and turbo it. No one would suspect it. Almost all stock exterior. And an auto tranny.... It would be the sleeper from hell.

its fun, until it starts to slip... then you'll ***** about the $3000+ it costs for a built transmission

and even after then you're physically limited by the actual size of the clutch bands in the NA auto... from what i hear its only good to about 650rwhp... well... ONLY hopefully ill have the car up and running very soon to verify this...

ONLY 650rwhp. DAMN. I will only be pushing 400 most likely. So hopefully no worries about rebuilding the tranny.

Does anyone make a good shift kit for the A/T? I'm looking at a car with 120K on it tomorrow and would like the tranny to have at least a chance for a little while.

Question

What is the shift kit? What does it do?

I'm planning on ordering a Toyomoto turbo kit and have one of the auto shops installed it for me, since I'm not mechanically incline.

Also, some inputs from the turbo gurus, please....

I have a 95 163K miles in perfect condition (oil change every 2-3 K miles and regular maintaince from Lexus dealer *expensive bastards* and I want to get around 350 ponies. which kit should I get and what can I do to prepare for it? I've just contacted Toyomoto and they've qouted me 2 different prices of their kits ($5500 and $7500).

Any info is greatly appreciated. thanks in advance!

I know this is an old thread but hey that's what the search is for right???

Is that 5500 installed???
I have a 93 sc300 auto and want a turbo installed.. I live in GA and don't want to drive too far to have it done... Car has 160k and has been meticulously maitained by lexus dealer... trans and motor are near new.
Toyomoto seems to be the way to go??

anyone have a kit installed and what was the overall cost?

I've raced a TT Supra up top and beat him. He said that he was doing 160 and I was at least 1 car length ahead of him and still pulling away. I think he was bpu+ (front mount, boost controller at 17 or 18 psi, intake and exhaust). We raced 3 times and it was the same result eash time. This was during the supra weekend down in So. Fla. last year.

auto or stick dosent matter on turbo spool...its the rpm that generates enough exahust gas energy to spin the turbo and create posotive pressure......thats what mater...and that depends on the displacement of the engine and the size of the turbo...
wayne....i havent seen ya around...looking forward to seeing the car.....ill be at towers on friday...with my truck...
and toyomoto is the best way to go...its $5500 not installed for the stage 1.....very high quality and great power....Jeff
