your talking about 1/4 mile quicker....auto does have its advantages but its out of the hole where its better..once rolling stick is better......
as far as spool up theres no differance...

Not yet. I've got more fine tuning to do. Gotta change a couple of things around and get my new tranny beefed up. I fried the fist one. But my freind warned me that it wasn't going to last very long. He said that it looked like someone was already in there.

Unless you are prepared to shift your manual box without using the clutch or lifting the gas pedal the turbo/turbo's will spool down during the gearchange, this don't happen with an auto box once you get rolling on boost, it's full boost all the way.

I know we have had a long discussion on top speeds, I recall the US cars are limited to 140mph (approx), my own JDM Soarer was limited to 112mph when it arrived in the UK, now removed it will top 150 with ease.

It's commonly thought the A340 autobox can handle 450bhp before needing any work (other than good clean Toyota Type4 fluid), shortly I should be able to tell you if this is the case and if it will top 165mph.

Im a newbie that might buy a auto sc300, simply becuase there are no manuals, NONE whatsoever in my area. But wouldn't swapping a auto supra transmission solve this problem? Also would a auto to 6 speed converstion be affordable or possible?

I've heard that auto supra transmissions are gear limited to 190 mph. Main reason Im buying the sc300 is becuase of the 2jz-gte swap.

Would the supra transmission (auto) bolt right in?

i have a auto sc300 turbo, and im only running 5psi of boost and i was wondering,
does anyone know if supra pistons will work in the sc300 block, because im going to be
building the engine to handle up 2 600 hp. and where do you guys think i can get my tranny rebuilt to handle
that much power, and how much would it cost to get the tranny rebuilt?

I like the late night highway runs.
Went 150 mph on pretty much stock engine. My car is automatic so I don't see how you're right.

Chris

PS. lexcoupe (Kevin) went 155 mph with 5 speed.

What kind of "late night highway runs" are you guys talking about....and where? 140 MPH on a public road is insane....you could wind up in jail.
