I've seen pics of the internals of vvti compared to regular Ge's and they look a lot skinnier. I'm also on MY.IS all the time and their results confirm this...

So, I guess that applies to a 2001 block out of a gs300 as well?

Glad I haven't bought the one I'm looking at yet...

I was looking this up because I had some free time on my hands... Just like you have said the internals are the ones that are different, I read that the block itself is the same but the internals need the beefing up.

I see a bunch of speculation on how much power the vvti can hold but i've yet to see a certain number at which the internals went kabooom. But you're right, i've come across many threads showing the difference between internals and such. I just wish there was a certain number to stop at assuming i have 0 knock and good tune. i believe the number is there, because the tensile strength on the rods in particular is the same or close, it's a matter of who's willing to find out

It all depends on the tune. People have made over 500whp on VVT-i but their tune is dead on. Most people agree that 450whp is as far as you should go on stock internals.

After reading my post, i would be willing to take my motor to the grave and documenting every little detail if somebody is willing to give me a head, ummmm, an engine head
