grindy gears low rpm?
I have had this issue with my sc recently.. It seems a little clunky shifting into gear when Im driving normally mostly from 1st to 2nd at low rpm's. If I get the rpm's up the shift is buttery smooth. I have always kind of questioned the life left in my clutch but I brought it by a shop and they said it was in good shape (im going for a second opinion though). I just changed the trans fluid and it didnt help. I also changed the trans mount. Ive noticed that if I push down the clutch at a stop and im too fast trying to go into 1st it will grind a little too.
Anyone have any ideas? I ask cause every other car ive ever driven usually has the opossite problem like a bad syncro where if you shift politely its fine but if you shift hard it grinds.

Hmm from what you are saying and with those type of miles I want to say it's normal. If you noticed that it wasn't gripping while in a gear and or high RPMS I would think it would be the clutch. The grinding noise is never a good thing to hear but these cars don't like to be put in first gear going faster then 5 MPH or so.

all toyota boxes do that its a toyota trait, w58 and especially r154
you cannot fix it. its in the design of the boxes.
people who have the problem change gear above 2000rpm's and never change into first while the car is rolling (bad for 1st 2nd sincros). stop then change from 2nd to 1st.
