I would go with the 2jz-gte as well. After i get done with suspension i will start looking for one. For me personally i will just mate the 2jz-gte to my w58 and then wait to find a v160/v160. You'll get better millage with the 6spd tranny plus i just cant pass upgrading for a 5spd to a 6spd. Go big or go home, 2jz/v160, screw the 1jz/r154.

I would love to have a v160 6 speed but I do not think that is going to be in my budget. My questions are now:

1. Will the stock 4 speed auto I have on my 97 sc300 now mate up to the 2jz-gte and if it does, how well will it hold the additional power.

2. If I get the 2jz-gte out of an aristo (which is the most likely case) I know the transmission that came with that is different that mine. Will it work in my car and is it stronger that the one I have now?

I'd assume the stock tranny could hold the power for a 2jz-gte. The jdm engine is onlky 280hp and the usdm one is like 320.

With that being said buget and car work dont go together. If i were in your shoes (and i am) I would save up my money until i had gotten all the parts i wanted. Unless your dieing of cancer, you have your whole life to turbo.
