1. when you ask a question specific to maintenance state the info on your car...ie car, year, mileage, mods, etc.
2. looking at your profile your car is a 1992. at this point the belt is more worn from age then actual use.
i would replace it along with the water pump, front main seal, cam seals, and timing belt tensioner and idler.
if any of those things are not replaced and happen to fail down the road you will have to redo the job again. do it once and forget about it for the next 80,000 miles. the parts are not even that that much if you know someone that works at a toyota stealership...i mean dealership
good luck.
do a search. there are plenty of step-by-step threads with directions and tips on how to do this job if you plan to do it yourself.

yeah run it till it snaps so you can chance being late for work, or stranded far from home at night on the interstate, then have to deal with towing which sucks, then settling for towing to a place that will rape you on the install since they know it's broke and you just had it towed.. Maybe it will just snap while your pulling out in front of traffic..

i have to change my belt in about 20,000 miles or so, but since there's a thread on it...does anyone know if getting those like timing belt kits off ebay is good? and what is the normal shop prices to get it all put in? figure i'll start saving for it if it's gonna be like over 1k...
Peace out
