converting to 5 speed
i have a 1995 sc400 with a 2jzgte AUTO..i want to gather up the parts for the 5 speed conversion..i know when you buy a r154 supra tranny you have to EXTEND the top where the shifter goes? if i purchase a 1jzgte tranny do i have to do this also? or this is only for the r154 tranny? and what diveshaft can i use?...is the STOCK sc400 rear end good enough for the 2jzgte?

Im intrested on this too. I love my car and the only time i would sell it, is if i am going to buy a 5 speed. I wonder if we are better off buying and selling a 5 speed. I dont want to sell but if i have too i will. I dont want to put alot of money into this car if im going to sell.

do some searching, the 2jz- gte or ge will both bolt directly to the r154 and the w58, the driveshaft you use will depend directly on what transmission you end up with, r154, use the front driveshaft section from mk3 manual supra, w58, just get the transmission form the sc with the driveshaft included, these are the basics and you will want to learn alot more before taking your car apart.
