Cool Main Bearing Seal

I have a 1999 RX 300. Has anyone had a problem with the main bearing seal?
I have 78,000 miles on the car. The dealer wants $1,500.00 to fix. Any suggestions. How long can I let it leak? Just a small leak now.

Move this to the RX section.
The dealer wants 1500 because its a both a pita and they are scam artists of the highest quality.
You can let it leak for as long as it your willing to keep checking the oil level and dumping oil in it.
You can find it done for less than 1500 for sure. If your mechanically inclined and have the proper tools you could do it in less than a day.
