It's a HT3B, it's a bit bigger than the HX50.

I was thinking of just blocking off one side which would pretty much half the lag that i'd get, then opening it up at higher rpm, so I don't choke the engine.

I'll spool it. I'll find a way. What I'm gonna do at first is just to make a blockoff plate to block one of the ports and keep it at low boost to keep it out of surge, and see what happens. Then, I'll either buy a quick spool valve, or make a flapper controlled by either rpm, or boost.

I'm going to need a lot of supporting mods for this turbo, and this trans has to go. It's not going to be able to handle the 7-800whp the turbo will eventually put out. Maybe i'll keep it at 500 if i can get it that far with my current setup.

Cut your losses and get a different turbo. Why build your car around a $145 turbo that's not going to fit? Get a properly sized turbo that you will enjoy.

Yeah, a Ht3b is never going to spool at 4k on 2.5 liters even with one of the scrolls blocked off. The old holset wheels in that turbo aren't very efficient, so you are not going to get similar performance to a newer garrett of similar size like you are hoping. Go ahead and try it, but I can guarantee you won't be happy with the results. Your best bet is to sell that turbo to some truck puller.

If you're stuck on finding some big cheap diesel turbo to use, look for garrett TV75's. Certain TV75's have a 71mm inducer, and the turbine housings are .96 a/r which will spool okay on 2.5 liters. I bought a remanufactured TV7511 on ebay last year for 200$, and the ones that pop up are usually similarly priced.

You can sell it and get a holset h1c that thing is good for 700hp and find one with a 16cm^2 housing that's the best on my accord it start to spool up around 2.5k and fully spooled by 3.5k which was a blast.

I think I will get rid of it, it's pretty ridiculous, and gets more daunting the more I look at it.

I think an holset hx50 or hx52 would be perfect.

This money would be great towards a paintjob.

I'll put it up for sale soon.

I'm selling it and putting that money towards a paintjob, and eventually an hx40.

If anyone's interested, I'll take $250 shipped. (trying to recoup the money I spent, shipping is around 90 bucks)

It is packed and ready to go. I cleaned up the blades, compressor, and washed it thoroughly. It has very minimal shaft play, and was rebuilt. Does not show signs of oil leakage.

I'm going to be putting it up on ebay if I don't have any interest.

Thanks for your feedback!

Edit: It's up for sale now, at $299 shipped. If anyone has issue with the price, PM me.
Reason I'm writing is because so people don't think I bought this turbo to flip to gain a profit.

Thanks.
