Matt (redphoenix) used the stock sc400 pedals for the brake and gas. He used a mk3 Supra pedal ,but we had a couple issues with the pedal. Fully depressed it wouldn't fully disengage the clutch making it slip. Needed to add a longer threaded rod to adjust it. Took forever. He had to also remove the foot rest on the left side of the pedal. We kept getting our foot stuck in between the pedal and the carpet area. We had a hard time finding the SC300 pedal assembly and cost was another issue. The SC300 pedal assembly should be easier if you come across one less issues to deal with.

I find it funny how hard you are trying to make this whole thing personal

I run race cars though tech at these tracks, i can handle track day tech.

come on guys let's get this back on topic.. We've learned that a stock 1jz is a tad stronger then a stock 1uz, but both are still great motors.
maybe this should be in another thread or pm's so Red can have his thread back

damn!! Massively jealous! Why? Because I've got almost everything to do the swap...all I need is a clutch cover, clutch disc, and time!
Got Blitz mufflers to throw on too...you're making me excited haha

How much did this all cost you in total?
I was thinking of selling my sc400 and getting a 5spd, but after seeing a few threads like this I'm almost convinced to do this conversion. Just trying to research it now..

Matt, nice car, the manual conversion looks awesome. Sounds wicked as well.
I am very close to doing my manual conversion with a remote shift R154. Running a moddified thrust washer and a short shifter. JZA80 pedals and cylinders. I have most of the other bits I need, just finalising what clutch and bearing I am going to go with. I think I have the clutch sorted, an organic sprung plate with a 2100lb plate but I haven't finalised the bearing. What are the specs on your clutch?
I have heard that the throw out bearings can need to be shimmed. Did you need to make a spacer or anything to get the bearing to engage correctly?
Also how is it retained? Some I have seen have a collar to allow them to be bolted to the box.
Good idea running the bleed pipe outside the bell housing. Any reason you went there instead of on the side? Were the braided pipes off the shelf or custom made to length?
Cheers
Matt.

Hey.
Custom spacer was made. Howe TOB has 5 spacers with it and an extra spacer kit would be needed to make it the length for this car. I had the machinist turn down some aluminum for the length I needed...
The TOB has it to the top because from what I have been told, its easier to bleed with the air going UP, not to the side.
My TOB has a retainer if I chose to thread a stud into the transmission to have it slide on... but really... where is it going? the PP and the spacer sandwich it... along with the lines holding it upwards.
