Default 1JZ Dyno...now with boost cut!!!

Hey guys,

I went to dyno my car today at a local place for a promotional event. A lot of nice cars there, and I was really anxious to run. Here's some background info:

92 SC300, 1jz swap, 3.5" turboback to 3" duals, no cats.
3" FMIC piping, 12x24x4 FMIC, Greddy Type S BOV.

No boost controller, Untuned.

First run the car was breaking up badly while revving out, and I dont know why. At first it hit speed cut, then boost cut. When I loaded the car up, it hit 16 psi, then just cut out at around 6100rpms.

Boost cut SUCKS. It feels like the car hits a brick wall. The best of the 2 runs I could do was 313whp and 320tq.

I'll have the vids up most likely tomorrow.

This is a photo of the graph. Notice the rollercoaster when i hit boost cut.

It's a dynapack dyno, and from the looks of it, it was right on the money with the power outputs of the other cars. 145whp for a scion with i/h/e, 230whp for a stock turbo mr2, and another more modded one with 250.

Here's some more pics of the event:

HMT y0!

Let me know what you think.

Thanks,
-Freddy

If you still using stock ECU you will hit it. U didn't mention if you have a BC controller of any kind. But your numbers look real good. I really have to do my exhaust to extract more power. Oh, Love the interior of you car.

I mentioned that I had no boost controller, which is weird that the boost would be that high. Oh well. Either factory freak or stuck wastegate. LOL

Thanks!

looks pretty good so far and I hate boost cut too. I have some very similar mods going on this weekend so your numbers are giving me something to look forward to.

The quality of the swap looks good and so are the dyno #'s for the few mods you've done.

Good dyno #'s. If yuo have the stock ecu greddy bcc or afc is your best route.
