What goes bad in the SC300 ECU?
THis morning I had the typical toyota ECU failure. My car running fine, then the motor stalled. When I restarted the car, I had nothing but black smoke. Bad Idle and stumbling. Has anyone successfully repaired a Toyota ECU? Any tips would be appreciated.

It could happen, but the only way to tell is to borrow a V8 ecu and swap them over.
If it still does the same thing. Spray electronic board cleaner into all of the electronic connectors (ecu etc) as you can and also in the car and engine bay.
If the problem still exists, then eliminate and change sensor 1 by 1.
i know this is time consuming and expensive but in some cases it has to be done.

Yea, it was a bad ecu cuz when I changed it, my problems went away.
