I'm driving my IS300, I don't care much about downtime as long as it gets fixed. If the magnetic switch used doesn't have the proper rod dimensions it will either overextend or not completely recoil. A foot in the *** of the manufacturer will fix that.

starter job was really a PITA to remove...i had to remove the rear bypass pipe to access the bolts holding the starter..this DIY helped a lil bit. http://www.lextreme.com/starter.html and some threads in the LS400 forum also helped. also, get new gaskets for the intake and if u remove the bypass valve...replace that too cuz i didnt and it was leaking coolant. so i had to rip off the TB, phelum, intake mani and remove the bypass valve to install 2 new pieces of metal! def was a hassle...GAH.
