High idle
1992 SC300
This car idles around 1500 RPM in park and neutral and about 1000 when you first shift into reverse or drive.
If you adjust the right side TPS counterclockwise, the idle gets even higher. if you have it cranked all the way clockwise the car will bog down when you put it in gear.
Also, the connector for it can simply slide off with a budge from a screw driver and does not click on, but it is snug still.
Could this be a bad TPS, or just in need of adjustment?

No one can help on this?
I tried screwing with the main TPS and when it is plugged in and you shift from P to R it bogs down to like 500RPM and then back to about 1100 or so. Same with R-N-D and vice-versa.

Here's an interesting tidbit coming from me, After driving for a while (especially in hot weather) my car will idle at about 1000 rpm (or slightly below it) when the gear has been set at "Park", so if you guys are going through the same thing as me, then it's definitely not your idle control valve. Hope that helps.

Now assuming you guys are having the same problems as me, I may have potentionally narrowed it down to it being an ECU issue (at least for me it may be)...Here's the thing, I just replaced my battery last night with a brand new one, and guess what? That fugger is now idling at 2000 rpms! upon morning start ups instead of the original problematic 1750 rpms I had to begin with...I'd like to have my ECU reset, But my mechanics tell me there has to be a "check engine light" in order for them to reset anything...Unfortunately, there is isn't one...

I would try this first before anything else. Good Luck!
