no i didnt change them, i just wiggled it..tightened it since mine also has that wing nut.

Thanks guys you were right it was the old battery terminals. I went and picked up a set of these for $4 at Autozone and not only were they super easy to install, but they fit crazy tight lol.

I always recommend at least cleaning up the terminals on every car you get. Battery cleaner solution, some wire brushing, then apply dielectric grease so they do not corode again. Corrosion forms when dissimilar metals touch in the presence of oxygen & power. If you use the grease to keep them from seeing oxygen, they corrode much less or not at all.

On my cars, I clean up the terminals, run new grounds to the block, heads, fire wall, starter if easy go get to, strut tower, ect. Simple to do, and can bring back lost power from problems with the system not grounding right ect.
