SC Exhaust Thread

Hi guys.
Fujitsubo Legalis R Muffler for Soarer JZZ30 with 1JZ-GTE engine and Lexus SC300 with turbo engine is a good muffler !

http://s16.radikal.ru/i190/1303/e1/c6e1494f33c3.jpg
http://s018.radikal.ru/i506/1303/af/d892940c1370.jpg
However this is a very loud muffler; here are manufacturers specs on level of sound on different RPM for the engine for Soarer JZZ30:
standardsfor Soarer JZZ30 Fujitsubo Legalis R
3000 rpm 76 dB 81 dB
5000 rpm 85 dB 90 dB
4000 rpm ~ 6000 rpm 94 dB 100 dB
From 80 dB to 100 dB – thats quite loud/noisy.
The sound of the engine can easily tire the driver and of course the passengers as well as annoying for pedestrians.
On my Lexus SC300 I have installed a more powerful engine, 2JZ-GTE VVT-i.
As a result, the level of noise from muffler is even higher and I didnt like it! and so I came up with an idea of how to reduse the noise level on higher rpms of 3000 to 6000.
Here is my schema of modifying Fujitsubo Legalis R muffler:
http://s017.radikal.ru/i431/1303/c4/fbfd4af566b1.jpg
I have built Fujitsubo Legalis R muffler for my SC 300 without catalitic converter outlet, I have added two receivers for exhausts, they connect two pipes of the muffler together, I have have connected two muffler pipes with
V-band, changed the connection place of back muffler cans and exhaust pipes, all new elements are made of stainless steele intended for sport ar muffelr modifications.
Here are step by step with pictures:
Down-pipe after outlet Ø 76 мм without catalitic converter outlet.

Mid-pipe Ø 76 мм. after lower pipe.
I have connected Down-pipe and Mid-pipe with V-band connector Ø 76 мм.

http://i078.radikal.ru/1303/4c/0f4308e119ff.jpg
I have sqeezed pipe for midsection Ø 76 мм into an elliptic shape.
This ellips pipe of the muffler does not stick out in the bottom as per stock muffler SC300.

http://s48.radikal.ru/i119/1303/72/068866a56861.jpg
Two pipes, Y-рipe, 60 мм, located before front muffler cans, I have connected into single receiver triangular shape.
This receiver dampens all the exhaust outputs which come out of the engine on high speed and produce all the sound.

Mid-pipe Ø 76 мм. and Y-shaped pipe Ø 60 мм. are connected by V-band Ø 76 мм connector.

http://s019.radikal.ru/i622/1303/e6/84fa349d6a09.jpg
I removed the bolt connections of pipes with Ø 60 mm.

http://s019.radikal.ru/i638/1303/6f/1e1e7be0e4b7.jpg
Both muffler pipes, each Ø 60 мм. back muffler cans i have connected together with a pipe Ø 60 мм. - thus i got a brand new received, H-shaped.

I have changed where back cans are connected to the exhaust pipes, right after H-pipe receiver, via fixture,
of the V-bandØ 63 мм.
This is how it was:

http://s16.radikal.ru/i191/1303/95/1b3e29dcbe0d.jpg
This was a successful transformation.
Two receiver - Y-pipe receiver and H-pipe receiver serve as dampening agents to offsett high speed exhausts.
These two receivers reduced signifcantly the level of sound from all the exhausts despite the absence of catalists.
Four V-band connectors make assembly and disassmbly easy, yet does not weaken the connection area thus preventing risk of exhausts breaking the pipes.
Two back pipe connectors to exhaust pipes do not touch the road.
So the outcome is a good straighforward direcft muffler, Fujitsubo Legalis R for my Lexus SC 300, which produced consistent low sound on all RPMs of my engine, 2JZ GTE VVT-I от 3000 до 6500 rpm.

Hey all, been cruising the thread for a while. Finally decided I like the fujitsubo legalis, for the sc300. But it seems it can only be found as a 1400 dollar setup! Yet a couple years ago it was easy to find them for around 600. Anyone know where I can start looking?

i don't see it much in this thread, so i'll ask if anybody runs twin dual tip mufflers on their sc's???
just examples so we're on the same page:
is it a dimension problem with the dual 3" tips and the bumper, or this is just sc sacrilege? i'm new to lexus, and came from many 240's, so many cars on this forum are a straight culture shock to me

These are a set that I took a chance with. They are called Top Speed Pro-1.......Great name right? I got a lot of questions about whether they sounded decent or not. Yes they are Ebay mufflers but I figured they would suffice for my set up. 1JZ with 3" downpipe all the way back to Y into mufflers. The set up turned out to be a lot louder than I thought, but overall im happy.

I just cut it all out and went dual's from the cat flanges to the stock mufflers. It now sounds better than ever. Passing gear at 70 is mind blowing!!! I wish i would have done this a lot sooner.
