i have to change my rear wheel bearings too. was just wondering if I buy a new hub with bearings already pressed in would it be easier for installation? i read somewhere on CL on another car though, that the e-brake system doesn't need to be removed. not sure. any one know?

Where did you guys buy the bearings? I'm going to replace both the fronts and rears in mine, but I can only find 1 part listed for the front (usually there is an inner and an outer on each wheel?) and it's 42$ a piece!! The rears are 103$ a piece!!!!!!!!!

I did all 4 corners in one day. Its not really that bad as long as you have your own press or one handy. Like someone said though, make sure them bearings are straight before you go pressing them.

I did my right rear bearing recently. I put it off for a while because I thought the job would be a PITA. The job isn't that bad if you like working on cars.

It started as a whine at 40mph that went away at 50mph. Then it started grinding a bit, then that came and went periodically for a week or two.

If I could turn back time, I'd have done it MUCH sooner. Lesson learned because my hub was worn down where the outside bearing goes on. The end of the hub had a turned down (read worn down) diameter so the bearing would slip on and be loose on the hub. I had to get a new hub (Toyota part # 42301-30030) wasn't cheap from Toyota. It costs around 200 bucks.

I got koyo bearing and seals from Rock auto for $80.

For anyone else planning on doing the job here's a great link to a write-up with pictures by Chris Bergemann. At the end of the article is a link to the factory service manual. It's for a supra, but if you don't already know, it's exactly the same for our SC's.
