Gary the problem is that the ABS Speed sensor has to sense a difference between each wheel that why there are sensors in each hub. Like StiCk3 POSTED the sensor at the rear of the hub must be the speed sensor not the ABS sensor for it is unable to determine any difference between the wheel to know if ABS needs to be activated. Just my thinking. Do you have the part number? Maybe we can get it solved that way. I have the 97 SC300/SC400 Electrical Wiring Diagram. So I know with a little time we can solve this one
I've looked at the diagram the other day and that sensor is nowhere on the ABS wiring diagram. It looks like that there is a separate ABS ECU that controls all ABS functions. Looking at the diagram it looks like a pretty typical system, it might be becuase the car was originally auto that this issue is occurring (ABS + TRAC). IDK if a simple ECU swap will suffice though. I'll look at the auto setup tomorrow and see if there is any relations.
I have the abs only ecu, but it plugs up just like the abs + trac ecu since i swapped
even if they plug up, the pins might not be right or there may be extra accessories that are interfering with the ABS ECU functions, such as throttle controls. Tomorrow ill print off both of them and compare them accordingly. Getting a better picture now that we know what we're dealing with.
Y do u want to sell the MK3 and get a soarer motor? I believe that they are pretty much the same exact engines.
The major difference is the MKIII 1JZ has a different oil sump setup and the wiring is vastly different. You can get a MKIII 1JZ to fit, but it's a PITA
yeah i knew bout the oil sump but i didnt think the wiring was that bad, but then again i didnt do my wiring either, i left that to the professionals (Dr. Tweak). If u want to know were i got my 1jz soarer and r154 pm me bro.
