Well after scouring over the diagrams, the ABS ECU connectors, although identical, have pins that are VASTLY different. Also the ABS unit itself is different from the ABS TRAC unit. I'm curious to see if the ABS TRAC unit can be used w/o the TRAC portion functioning. I'll go over it and see which wires need to be rerouted or if it's a completely lost cause. Hopefully it doesn't involve finding another ABS unit that is compatable.

I know from before when I connected my abs/trac unit up after the swap if would give me a CEL and abs light. When its disconnected i just het the abs light. I was able to source the abs only unit and have since connected it but i still get the abs light but no CEL.

When the new ABS ECU was installed it didn't require engine computer inputs that the old ECU needed. The ABS light is getting thrown because of the ECU pinouts i mentioned before. The goal is to get these ECU pinouts re-routed so everything will work.
I have a day off tomorrow, so ill spend time trying to sort out the pinouts and see what all else needs to be done.

I believe that the one from the soarer should also work just fine. I was in no way able to source something like that out tho so I just lucked out and found someone selling there's.

I know this thread has been idle for a while, but... I want to do this exact swap on my 97 sc300 auto. Do you have an estimate of your total costs? What extra parts are needed to get the manual transmission in there?
The car looks great, btw. Still enjoying it?

For the manual tranny you will need the actual tranny along with a driveshaft since urs will be too short if i remember correctly. total cost of swap was probably somewhere in the ball park of $6K to get everything done right with a few upgrades.
Thanks, yeah i am def still enjoying the car...thinking of going single sometime next summer if the $$ is right

Are you including the cost of the engine and tranny in that $6k? How much did you pay for your 1jz and transmission? Any advice of shopping online for an engine?
