How to check codes from CEL?
Since working on my car, the CEL keeps coming on.
I changed all cables and plugs, seafoamed the tank and intake but not crank case. Changed the Fuel Filter. And I am about 50% through the BFI project so right now the chambers are not sealed.
Usually when I turn it on it is fine and runs like a champ. But after 15-30 mins the CEL comes on and will stay on until I turn car off and let it sit for a while, then light will be off for a bit but always comes back on. I did notice that when it is on is seems to suddenly get horrible gas mileage but that may just be my imagination.
I went to Autozone to see if they could get me the codes but they cant connect to a 93. So is there any "trick" to get the codes without going to a Lexus Dlr? I know some cars you can like turn it on and odff a few times and it will give you a code somehow.
Any ideas.

okay nice deed for the day....
TC and E1 - > take paper clip with the car on (power but does not need to be started) and put it into the ports. You will find the DCLC by your knee under the steering wheel.
Count the check engine light flashes...the first set will be the first number. There will be a pause and then the second number. It will keep looping.

Okay,
so which one of you guys is correct? or are both methods correct? I have my CEL come on when am cruisign at 80mph and then it goes off few minutes after - it comes on with the TRAC OFF which most likely is an O2 sensor (screw seafoaming 0 it caused this issue)
Help?
Thanks!
