That's what i wanted this thread to be. Everything someone needs to do the 1JZ swap. When I get back I will go through and see what I did thats missing and add that in. I did everything myself with the exception of pulling the motor out and dropping it back in. Definitely reccomend having another body to help out. hit me with any questions when you get started.

hey man...whats goin on....
I had the same 1600 rpm cut you did...maybe it was a lil higher. It ended up being because of the starter bypass. Bypassing it didnt work for me....so as soon as i corrected the wiring and moved a couple body plug wires around she worked flawless.
On a side note, my clutch just broke in so i finally went 100% throttle. Mods are front mount, 3" custom turbo-back and a drop in filter. I ran against my lil brothers stock g37 6 speed. Just a second gear roll I had him by 2 cars with someone else in my car + full system.
running a potenza 275 30 19 and tires break loose in second with over 90% meat left. Once you get the car running right, a g35 will be a joke.
Let me know if you need any wiring help as I have an original 95 5 speed with an Auto 1J swap using my stock w58 just like you.

Everything you did for the 1600 cut would be helpful. Post it here or PM it to me and I will scribe it to this. Pictures are good too if you got them. I was hoping the ECU Recap would solve it, but I still have some wiring anomolies. Your different way of starter bypass would be cool too. I am willing to run it to a damn push button or toggle or whatever just to get this thing 100%. I am taking my bosses job so it will be a pain to organize with the G35. However in Fayetteville, they have a drag event in the warm months called Freaky Friday. Basically Run what you Brought event. Thats what I want to be ready for.
I plan on a 3" exhaust when I get back. Just trying to find a good muffler for it. Take it easy and hit me with all the info. Thanks man.

Mac stay strong man let me know when you start working on the car.. I will be coming down as soon as i get done with my car, so around february it should be on the road.
Glad to hear it was the ECU,mine was still dumping Fuel and that's reason why i wouldn't pass emissions in MD.

Back at it as soon as the damn snow finishes melting. Need to finish messing with the clusters, may have to send both to OLT to make the good parts match up with the pretty parts.
-As soon as the jack comes in or I spend a saturday at the shop the LSD is going in.
-Built a gauge panel.
-Need to wire in the boost controller and the wideband. Still waiting on a flange for it.
-Getting intercooler pipes welded by national speed down in wilmington.
-remount the lip when I am done with the intercooler.
