Default SRT Intake - Yay or Nay?

Hi smart folks. Need some input from you all. I'm about to commit on a 500 dollar purchase of an SRT Intake for my sc300. SRT will install the intake for me, for another 100, which will include modding the heat shield to fit the sc300 engine bay. Thus, a total of 600 bucks.

My question to the forum members is this, worth it or not - based on the performance gains?
The numbers are:
Horse Power Gains - 12
Torque Gains - 7

BTW, it's not the IS300 Intake going on the sc300, rather the GS300 Intake

How reliable is this setup? Because the LAST thing I want is a check engine light, trouble starting up, stalls, and clucking out.

Thx guys!!

Wow dude, $600 for an intake? That's insane, and definitely not worth it imo. I got my 1jz-gte motor for $1290 shipped, and that's so much more bang for the buck. $600 for an intake, is just too much. You should use the $600 for a more worthwhile mod, like exhaust. You can get the Tanabe Medallion Touring dual exhaust for $578 from gripmotorsports. Don't do it man, it's not worth it.

Why the heck would you spend 600 on an intake?

And seriously 100$ for an install?!?!?! Save the money, remove all of the 3 screws and 3 clamps yourself.

haha, you have to solder some stuff too and reprogram the ECU for fuel efficiency.

I paid less for my turbo...seriously with the SC, I have learned there are only 3 possible routes..and a $600 intake isnt one of them..

1.BFI
2.NA-T
3. GTE swap..

thats it..like i said, i paid less for my turbo, and a little over double what you are paying for an intake to build a full na-t kit..
