Default What Radiator? (SC + 2jzGTE swap)

So if i needed a new radiator for a 92 SC300 with a 2jzGTE swap already done... what radiator do i use? SC300 or MK4?

And also, whats a good after market radiator that is used? I had a Koyo on the 240.

the best advice i could give you is to search the web to se what fits your standards...
and the mk4 and the sc300 have the same chassis so i guess it would fit or you may need a bit of modifying...

So just buy one for a Supra and deal with Custom mounts or do they actually make one designed to fit in a SC300?

I got a Mishimoto aluminum for a mk4 supra tt in my sc with 1jzgte. Fitment was OK. I had to hack up and make brackets for the shroud.

Im running the MK4 Koyo with Zirgo electric fan. Remember you will need a seperate tranny cooler if you go aftermarket.

Kyle,

It's funny to see you asking questions here instead of STSRL site.

My set up is Fluidyne Radiator & cap + AAP Motorsports Dual electric Fan Kit.

std 425 x 738 x 40mm
supra 400 x 738 x 40mm

25mm difference in height. That is why SH_JZZ30 had to modify the shroud.

Turn the std radiator mounts upside down to make the supra radiator fit in a soarer (sc300, 400).

Make a fan shroud with dual electric fan's like clevercat has done.

TIP buy 2 fan switches (on 90, off 85 and the other on 85, off 80 degrees c) so that you can switch the wiring between the two on off temperatures (eg summer, winter).

Part no. from TRIDON TFS136, TFS139

Thanks for the info!

I thought the megan, mishimoto, jvtr, godspeed aluminum radiators were all the same, but they're not.

I've been comparing radiator pictures for the past 20min, and If I were to buy another aluminum radiator I'd go with the Mishimoto. It looks better overall than the Megan/jvtr that I have.

Gotta use the supra fan shroud too or you have to hack alot like I did, and you don't get the little fan.

when you say the mounts, are you referring to the rubber grommets on the bottom?

I'm having no issues with the bottom grommets, but the mishimoto mk4 tt radiator I purchased will not fit with the factory lexus upper brackets AT ALL. I see a couple of pictures in this thread with modified brackets, but then I see a few other pictures with factory looking brackets, so I'm wondering what people did.

Yes, I used my GE lower radiator hose on my GTE swap.
