Default Upper oil pan re-gasket

Has anyone performed a re-gasket of the upper oil pan on a 1UZ? The car had a rear main seal leak, so I brought it to a toyota guru who changed it for $300. He told me the pans were sweating, so I'm assuming the worst, that the upper pan may be leaking. I've done re-gaskets on Nissan S-Chassis, which consists of basically loosen the motor mounts, tilt/lift the motor, pull the pan down a few inches, and regasket it with the couple inches you have.

Also, is the rear seal plate to block a common place to leak? I'm not sure if the mechanic removed the plate and re-gasket'ed it to replace the rear main seal or not. I asked him to check the tranny input seal as well. He told me it was ok. I really hope I don't have to bring it back to have the tranny pulled again for something that could have been done as a precaution the first time around. Really sucks to have to bring your car into a shop when your mechanically inclined and perform your own maintenance. But the 1UZ auto tranny doesn't not like like a fun job to do on jackstands.
