Why don't more people rock this?

Why don't more people rock this?
Hey guys. I'm almost done piecing togeather my NA-T kit. All I need now is an intercooler and piping.
Well since both the hot pipe and cold pipe run on the same side of the motor, It's going to take a lot of piping, which to me isn't really a good thing.
I'm just wondering if this specific intercooler (or one similar) would be a good choice for NA-T. I haven't seen anyone use this, but I would image it would be good because it would cut out a lot of piping and head ache! Just wanted to see what you guys have to say about the idea.

any pro's or con's?

I would definately run an Intercooler that has the hot and cold on the same side. Seems like a good choice. The one in the link looks beautiful, I would go with it. Cut down on piping and even a little pressure drop! Good luck

Sick.. I guess maybe alot of people don't use it because they either have the xspower kit that comes with an IC already, or did a 1 or 2JZ swap.
sickkk I guess that what i'm rocking then untill i get an FFIM and bigger I/C
any idea on how much HP it's good for?

When I was going NA-T I was looking at the same style, they are all over the place, In reality it is a better option more passages for air although shorter makes for a more efficient intercooler over less passages that are longer. End result more efficent intercooler design and less pipe equals less pressure loss="more boost."
Check out frozenboost dot com. they throw some hp numbers and flow numbers on the page.
I went 1JZ so no need for that style anymore.

SICKKKK!!
I'm stoked!
When i saw it i was like woah that would be perfect... But I havent seen anyone rock it, so i thought it would suck, but the more and more i think of it the more it makes sence.

back when I had a DSM (this was over 10 years ago)
my first FMIC has the in/out on the same side, but this meant the end tank was pretty low (at least lower then if they had been on opposite sides)
had it for a few months until one day while driving I saw one of those metal plates on the road, the ones they use to cover up big holes they've been digging, Problem was the plate edge was over a dip in the road.
I hit the brakes to slow down, but that + the dip brought my front end in contact with the plate, which sheared off the bottom end tank.
when the car was on flat ground, the bottom of the end tank had 3.5" of clearance

Yea i thought about that too... I'm going to try to bend the lowest piping upwards so it's not just chillin there waiting to get destroyed. maybe i'll use a 45 degree coupler and curve it upwards slightly twards the turbo. This will also get me the shortest piping possible.
My car is SLAMMED. It's going to be a risk on the Louisiana roads, But I'll try to be carefull.
