Default goes into low gear too fast

Hi guys, took a nice road trip in the SC4 this weekend, during the trip i come across the kids that wana race, ok, off the line and during a low speed punch to the gas, the damn thing just goes into a higher gear, sometimes it will stay in a low gear giving me lots of accelration but about 80% of the time it will just goes into its highest gear and sits there. the trans is fine, just changed the fluid and stuff like lex told me to do. but still, there is power within that thing and only if it would stay in a lower gear long enough to smoke that RSX that smoked me off the line. At that point i wish i had brought my acura for some fun!
What's a good thing to add a chip upgrade or something, how much does that cost? Is it easy to put in?

if you want a chip for more HP... check out www.weapon-r.com MadMaxSC400 is running around w/ an extra 40 rear wheel HP & 38 RW torque from that chip. Also check what mode you're in.. PWR ECT... and try not putting it down all the way when you first punch it.

It is a pretty easy install, comes w/ directions, but it does cost about $900. But If you've got an 2000 NSX-T, $900 shouldn't be that bad right?

Care 2 post some pics or your fleet ?

here's a member selling his ECU... you could at least talk w/ him to see how he likes it, to get an objective opinion. (He's selling it because he wants oodles more HP and can't get that just from the ECU alone... He's not selling it cause it doens't work)

I can vouch for the Weapon-R add on ECU(chip);it straightened out all the annoying little flat spots in the power curve, also made for alot more control off the line,no more second guessing what the computer is going to do.The car winds out really nicely now too, shifting into overdrive at 115 with the throttle down.
The price was a little hard to swallow, but the results are worth it.

One thing you can try to do while stock to keep the car in a lower gear is to snap the throttle open very quickly,as the computer responds to how fast that happens for gear placement.
