Exclamation Need Help!!!! (Electrical Problem)

I have a 1993 SC400 that's acting strange! She will start every morning without hesitation! If I stop n turn her off she needs at least an hour before she'll restart! My battery light comes on 4 a few seconds while at a red light. Seconds after I accelerate the light goes off, and she runs great! My battery n alternator are brand new! The only thing I can presume is that the starter is malfunctioning. I'm not very good at guessing with her but there's 2 many electrical feature's that might lead me towards something else! All advice is welcome! Plz help!

If it starts every morning without hesitation I highly doubt its the starter.

From what you said sounds like your alternator or battery may be busted. I know you said they are new. Its not unheard of to have a new electrical part not work right. Sounds like more than just a bad alternator tho. Alternator might even be fine. Your battery light coming on at idle makes me think the alternator/battery could be on its way out tho.

Bad/weathered connections might also contribute to your troubles. Check your battery terminals for corrosion. Or loose connections

Id check the charging system (alternator/battery) to make sure its doing its job and check for connection problems.

This sounds very familiar tho I think someone may have had the same problem a while back...

Hopefully someone will have an answer for you. Oh and by the way... The title of your thread isnt very informative and will kinda put people off. A better title would have been "SC400 electrical problems Need Help!" or "SC400 Starting problems Need Help!"

I don't think the battery light is the same concern. As far as the starting issue after the car is hot. Two things typically cause this condition in the 93 SC300. One is the fuel pump ECU, the other could be the main ECU. I had the same problem with my daughters SC3, unfortunatley it was the engine ECU. But the problem has returned intermittently which means the fuel pump ECU is probably starting to act up now.

Yea it could be the alternator. Since you have an sc400, is there any power steering fluid leaking onto it?

hmm, wait an hour. If it was the alternator the battery wouldn't be getting charged at all.
