Hey fellow SC enthusiasts I converted my auto 92 SC300 to a manual, & for some reason it's throwing an excessive amount of gas out the exhaust, does this have anything to do with the auto ecu & do I need to buy a manual ecu, or is it something else? If it is something else would u please let me know what's the cause for it or if you think you know or have an idea what might be causing the problem please let me know thank you I really appreciate your help. Either way do I need to buy a manual ecu for my car?
What's your set up, 1J/2J? What Engine Management are you running, sounds like your dumping too much fuel(running too rich)...Did you make any other changes or did you only just change the trans?

I got a 2J & I didn't do anything else just the trans.
ECU does not matter between auto and manual. auto toyota 2jz NA and turbo ecu;s are ran perfectly happy in manual mode, maps are same when you ground the pin for it to be used with 5mt
you may be dumping fuel due to coolant temp sensor, or some other issue caused during the swap (accidentally)
