damn, I think a lot of us have this same problem. I am going to install a shifter boot finally and see how much that helps. If It still gets really hot i might try that hushmat that socalsc400 was talking bout for the tranny tunnel

At first i taught i was the only one, then start searching and i found a few people with the same issue, i will fix mine over the week end.

mines orginally a manual. i'll check out my rubber thing under the shift boot. one day i was getting so much heat, i shoved some rags and a ripped a t shirt all under the shifter area under the shift boot.. its like the whole under side of the car needs heat sheilds or something. i noticed working on new audi's they have heat sheilds under the car but they are stuffed with stuff that looks like heat wrap.

so its the floor plan metal getting hot or is it the air coming through from the holes hot?

Floor plan metal

Get a big trans cooler with a fan connected to switch on at 70 - 75 degrees, because it plain to see that the trans is not being cooled by the radiator.

OR

The exhaust is to close to the bottom of the car. Wrap it up or change the design so its further away from the metal.

Hot air

Use some alloy tape, grommet's to block the holes that you missed or did not put back in. Put the std under tray's back on there is a reason they are there to speed the air up to escape the engine bay.

Some race cars use metal thermo fans near the exhaust to suck the air out under the car when they are in the pits or at the startline
