Default That's one way to beat the three-digit price of the replacement!

How'd ya do that?

I've always wanted to do that, but the stock tank is so weirdly shaped, and I wanted to duplicate the same capacity, coolant levels and pressure cap.
(But not duplicate the level sensor or its propensity to leak.)
It sure would free up that area under the hood where the stock tank mushrooms all over.

Any pics?

Honestly man the way i did it was pretty ghetto. I Simply took a empty powerade bottle with the cap screwed on and put a hole into the cap for the coolant hose to go in. I ziptied the bottle to the space between the front bumper and the radiator panel. I didn't have any problems in the 2 years i drove like that.

You didn't have any problems because you didn't have a SC400, like vikas and I.
As the pic above shows, the stock SC400 tank is different, with a pressure cap and 2 inlets, top and bottom.
