When we took off my intake we looked in the intake manifold and saw that it was super dirty. The throttle body was nasty black, and it was a little thick. We decided to clean it all out with throttle body cleaner and got the intake cleaned up pretty nicely. All I have to say is that I am getting a lot better gas mileage. It has increased at LEAST by 50 miles a tank...which does add up... I used to get barely 300 miles to a tank (I dont really like to keep my foot out of it ) Now I am getting pretty decent gas mileage. Before we did the plugs we also decided to seafoam it. Everything is running a lot better than it was before. Just thought I would throw out the idea if some of you have not thought about it. I also found out that I need some new valve cover gaskets.... but, it is what it is. I am going to replace those soon. Lots of oil where the old spark plugs were. I have 185K on my SC. Im sure any mileage SC would help. Let me know what you think...
This is called general maintenance, and most people think about it.

Unless you have Neurocity's Lexus, it runs off pixie dust and fairy tales. No maintenance needed

Your telling me. I dropped $283 last week at Lexus for new plugs. I was getting horrendous gas mileage, like 13-15mpg (mostly city driving). Just filled up so hopefully this tanks will be better.

They pulled a plug and showed me. They said they were all original. So 10 yrs old and 132k later haha. In my defense I only got the car a few months back and have no maintenance records for it. Lexus showed nothing in there system for when the car was brought to a dealer.

My commute daily is about 60 miles round trip, so I need as much MPG as I can get! What is this seafoam stuff? I'm getting about 21 or so highway driving, but the occasional WOT when I am switching from gridlocked lane to an exit only lane kinda kills my mileage

Speaking of...I need more pixie dust, you fairy!

I cleaned my TB and was surprised at how dirty it was too. Seemed like my GS was dirtier than the SC?
