I went iridium because the changing the coppers every oil change got old...and the stockpile I had of them found water somehow. . .

Anyways, I liked the bumping of an old topic, which shows you searched. I haven't used the stock twins for a long time, but I thought the heat temp for them was a 6, not a 7...might be worth checking into.

If you're unsure of your cut, it might be worth considering where you are taking the boost gauge reading. If it is off the compressor housing, it may be slightly lower than what is seen at the intake manifold. the s-afc question someone asked was likely to make sure that even though it is 12psi, the ecu isn't being told it's higher.

I may be sending you in the wrong direction(s), but I tried.

factory heat range : BKR6EP-8*
one step colder : BKR7EIX
two steps colder: BKR8EIX
three steps colder: BKR9EIX
*factory sparker is premium platinum.

I believe the communal response is to use the 7's, is that correct?

thats what im runnin right now and i dont have any problems. im gonna try another step colder. i heard somewhere that you should go a step colder for every so many mods or horsepower gained. dont quote me on that...

can anyone confirm this?

"Speaking of temperatures, spark plugs come in two basic varieties: cold and hot. Cold plugs work best in high-horsepower high-compression engines. They have less insulation, so more heat can be transferred away from the combustion chamber to the outside of the engine. This is no laughing matter: If the plug isn't cold enough for a particular application, it can't get enough heat out of the piston chamber. This can lead to pre-ignition, knocking, and permanent engine damage. If you aren't sure which spark plug heat range to use, err on the side of using a plug that's too cold rather than a plug that's too hot." = howstuffworks.com/sparkplugs

Heat 7 is what would suit the majority of our needs
Don't see it being necessary to go to six unless your going for big numbers

And as far as the supersparks being better.. Just feels like the motor runs like factory again in my opinion lol
A def must if going single IMO

Looks like the temp is fine then, with 7 being for BPUs

I haven't looked at this stuff for a long time, so thanks for posting that in here. It will be helpful to anyone who searches and finds this thread as well...
