Default Just changed my battery -- starter wire too short

Hi all, I just upgraded to a DieHard Platinum Group 34 battery but the wire to the starter is a bit short and it wouldn't clamp on to the battery. The workaround, I ended up having to replace the wire going from the fuse box with a longer one just so the other would stretch a bit -- I mounted it from the side so now I can drive again but its not too safe. I'd like to just upgrade the wire entirely to 4awg from the starter to the (+) terminal since I'm going to need to replace it. I looked up how to get to the starter on this car and it looks pretty daunting -- is the only way to get to the solenoid by removing the entire top portion of the motor?

thanks for any tips in advance

PS: what are you guys using for a battery tie down? FIGS says his bar won't fit the SC400 but its damn beautiful. Anything similar you can recommend?

i had the same problem when i tried to swap batteries with a friend. batteries for the sc4 have reverse terminals. so putting in a standard battey wont work cuz your positive wire will be too short. i went and picked up a specific batter for the car for around $90 at auto zone. hope this helps.

How difficult is it to change the terminals of the SC400. My SC4 has some other terminals that were adapted to be used with some cheap, smaller, chevy battery for some reason.

Is it difficult? I'm actually gonna be sending the car to the mechanic to get the terminals switched out to the ones that actually work with the battery that the car is supposed to have.
