Power Steering Tube leak

Power Steering Tube leak
Hi-
One of the return ps tubes in my sc300 is leaking under the battery. It is leaking right from the fitting where 3/8" tube fits into 1/2" tube (please see attached image with a red circle). I am going to cut 3-4" piece out and replace it with a rubber 1/2" hose with two plumber clamps.. I just would like to get an expert opinion if it is going to be a safe fix. It seems to be a low pressure return line, so the solution seems to be reasonable.. Thanks in advance.

whew...I don't see that replacement causing any problems, but when my PS started leaking on my V8 I just replaced all the lines with semi-stock tubing (same size but it was called a fuel injector line...good enuf for gas good enuf for PS fluid lol) I would suggest using a small metal tube on each side of the 1/2 in. going into the stock hoses, sorta like t-tech tubes then use adjustable hose clamps. Sounds like alotta work but its not. I only say this because I'm not sure how well the plumbers clamps would work, even tho it's just a return line, it could still have a small leak later on.

Thank you for your advice, TunerLexx.
I think I am going to buy a t-tech adapter (sol fit324) so I can connect two rubber hoses (1/2 and 3/8") to each side of the cut out via the adapter. This way it is going to be safer, as I won't have to clamp 1/2" hose over 3/8" plastic tube.. Thanks.
