Edit....two more questions: What transmission cross member/mount did you use?

And, does the auto starter work with the w58 flywheel? I cant find an M/T starter listing on any of the major parts stores websites, which make me wonder if they were the same.

Wow... Congratulations man... I'm sure you are loving every second you drive the car more than ever. How much did it cost for everything (parts wise) and how much was the labor from your mechanic? I just wanted to get an idea. I'd like to do the swap for my 99 SC400 down the line but thinking of using the R154 tranny as it is much beefier to do any other future upgrades.

Yes, everything i have on my car is still auto the starter,ecu..etc...etc

Well i pieced it all together to try and save alil cash but all in all still spent about a 1K on parts and another $200-300 for labor...i will upgrade to the R154 aswell...hell if i kno i woulf of spent close to $1500 i would of just went with the R154 to begin with..LoL

.... This is why even tho there are so many DIY manual threads, I still keep searching and researching about them hehehe... I didn't want to do the W58 then do another with R154. I'm trying to maximize the savings as much as I can .

Nice swap man,I think the hardest part would be the drilling but at the end it all worth.

1jzgte sir. Even though people down here are taking sides over 2j's are better than 1j's vice versa.... But still in good fun though.

Thats whatd up bro...i still tryin to pick which 1 i wanna do myself...i like the 1j, kinda wanna be different tho...so i think 1jz vvti is the one, but the 2j is in the back of my mind too..lol

will they be doing your swap as well? i have heard lots of positive things about these guys and was considering going to them for my swap but wanted to get an idea of what they charge. 300 on labor for swapping from auto to 5 speed seems like a great deal to me

^^^ They do very good work, im local and i have been goin to them since i had my sc...they both own JZ powered cars and kno what it is they are dealing with..Im very good friends with them so i jus bought all the parts and when it was all said in done, i hooked them up with labor, and yes i will be going to them for my motor swap aswell
