yea, I need to know that too. There is two ways - 1. with a dyno, make your adjustments with someone around who knows what's up 2. get an air fuel gauage and lean it out slightly - not too lean. Do this at the track to find the best settings. I will try route 2 once I get the air fuel gauge working again. Maybe dyno If I learn how - next southeast meet w/ a dyno is where I will be.

Keep in mind - I'm rolling a SC300 5spd with some intake mods. You're running a 400. Our settings are going to be very different do to motor differences. I was just giving you an idea of how to go about it. Even if we were both driving 400's, no two cars are exactly the same - so while numbers I generate may be a good starting point for your's - there will probably be more ideal adjustments that you would need to test for. I was just giving you an idea of how to go about this. I recommend an air fuel gauge and going from there. You can always adjust the afc while on the run to lean out the mixture slightly. With no other modifications, this would be ideal. IMO. Good luck and I will post with numbers but at the most, they will only help the other 2jz-ge motor guys. Good luck.

Take it to a dyno and use a wideband o2 sensor to tune your AFC.

A/F meter won't do the job as effectively from what I've read.

I'm curious how rich these engines are running anyway... is there really much room to tune?

Quick: I'm not all that sure there is much room. I haven't played with it much yet and I have no access to a chasis dyno as of yet - though I think I've located one about an hour away. We'll see.

I plan on a turbo soon so I may not even waste my time tuning the afc before that.

Cool. You thinking of the T04E or the T 60-1?

Hope things are well with you in the lexus world. No starter troubles since that all got fixed I take it?

I want the t60-1. Hearing from the other guys, a fmic and aem upgrade. We'll see how far I can stretch a dollar though.

Starter is great - the car hasn't missed a beat. Took her to Florida shortly after that thread. You guys were dead on!

Glad to hear it, man.

I look forward to your turbo setup... I think that 60-1 is the way to go -- excellent power and spool.

Glad that starter's in good shape, and that your Lex is treating you right.

Have a great memorial day.

as far as tuning room on the 2JZ-GE engine goes, you've got about 25rwhp and 30rwt headed your way w/ SAFC according to others here who have done it. (If I had an SC3 I'd have SAFC by now, and I would tell you for a fact how much I gained... but if wishes were horses, beggars would ride...)

That's good data, man. Thanks.

I take it that's with tuning for premium gas then... ? Not bad at all.

That sounds to me like the first mod to go to.
