Default My SC400 overheated, help me diagnose

Randomly saturday night after 10mins of driving my temp guage pegged to hot and the radiator cracked at spewed coolant everywhere. I've never got a warning light for low coolant or anything, it just went. So i obviously need a t-stat but do i need a new water pump? i did start the car and check and there was no water leaking from the water pump housing. thanks in advance for the advice.

If the radiator just flat out cracked then thats just it. It wouldn't necessarily have to throw in a warning light. Maybe the radiator was just about to give up and finally did it. Cross your fingers that the water pump is still good. Replace the radiator and you should be good to go. If you are going to go an extra mile to replace the pump then you might as well replace the T-belt as well.

Good luck.

Same problem recently. No warnings just overheated. Replaced the water pump and radiator and went ahead and did the thermostat and T Belt. Runs perfect now after those repairs no heating issues.

did your water pump look damaged in anyway? im really trying not to go that far right now. thinking about doing a t-stat and a new radiator and if need be, then i'll do the water pump and timing belt.

I would do exactly that.

If the pump is not leaking, probably no need to replace it now.

My radiator split similarily(a somewhat common problem), and I replaced it and the thermostat(easy to do).
