Intercooler Mounting & The Method You Chose. FROM: Mortal300
Hey Guys,
I just recently purchased a FMIC from BoostLogic and I am having a little bit of trouble fitting the piping on my 1994 SC3.
The old style piping that maybe some of you have...involved 5 pieces. My Passenger Side IC piping fits PERFECTLY.
The issues i am having is with the Driver Side IC Piping.
**It seems that BL was getting complaints that peoples IC Piping was cracking on the Sway Bar and therefore BL revised there piping and fabricated new parts.**
I was told by BL to stay AWAY from the Sway Bar.
So who has a FMIC from BoostLogic and do you have any Install Pics or hints on what to do?????
Here are my Pics:
The 3-Pipes to be fitted on the Driver Side IC! U-Shape fits directly on IC. Small Elbow on the left connects to turbo housing! Middle Pipe is giving me huge problems!
U-Shaped Pipe Connecting on the Driver Side IC.
U-SHAPE PIPE COMING FROM IC IN BETWEEN SWAY BAR AND RADIATOR.
MIDDLE PIPE SITTING INFRONT OF SWAY BAR RESTING ON RADIATOR THIS IS GIVING ME PROBLEMS! IS THIS RIGHT??
ELBOW PIECE ON TURBO
Some help would be great

Here is a youtube link of my first start up without the bumper. Near the end you can somewhat see where the piping dissappears to. This is a supra intercooler piping kit.

There is actually a precut hole there for the stock piping.
Here is a pic of my engine bay pic. I know its a pretty horrible picture but it shows the initial direction of the piping at least.
If you look carefully you can see a hole that I erroneously cut due to thinking the piping would have to go through it.

Picked up some tubing this morning and got to work again. Made the intake pipes and had the windows put back in. The windshield was cracked before we took it out so needed a new one.
Then got to work on the hot side. Starts off as 2.75" and switches by the sway bar to 3" and goes into the intercooler.
Comes out the intercooler as 3.5" and then goes to 4" at the TB.
