Oil catch cans, recommended? or purely engine dress up?

I'll post a pic of mine soon. I'm using the catch can to delete the two hoses from the valve cover that go in the inlets of the two turbos on my 1jz. This way the turbos don't suck in oil. Since I'm rhd, I bolted it up to my brake master cylinder. I'm running a T with a breather filter on one of the hoses. It's an eBay catch can. I did this about 8 months ago and I never had a problem.

IMO it's a must have if you have a turbo. The 2jz engines have issues with blowing there FMS so you want it hooked up to an intake to suck the positive pressure out on your crankcase. Just put it where the stock charcoal canister is. Here is how I did it.

i just have a breather filter. I don't have time to be catching oil...
without a turbo your blow by gases will be minimal.
if you use a breather on a stock car you will have an air leak, but the ecu will figure it out after a while. best to leave it in the stock configuration though.

you should not need to delete EGR or charcoal or any of that. You can put together an oil separator out of a compressor air filter setup from home depot for super cheap. There's a DIY in the 2gs sticky...i will find it and post it here.
EDIT: was actually on the SVT site haha. Can be done very cheap and easy. Just make sure you get it on the right PCV hose.

I had both the pcv and the valve cover running to it at first and venting to air.. which is not a good idea. the pcv should at the least have vacuum on it.
the pressure even made it to the oil pan which was causing oil to get stuck in my return line and leak. I thought at first the return line was faulty so after a new one I realized that was not the case. removal of the catch can was the fix. If I had to do it again I would only run the crank case one to a can and back in front of the turbo, but I decided to hold off cause I don't get much blow by at 9 psi.
