the pressure even made it to the oil pan which was causing oil to get stuck in my return line and leak. I thought at first the return line was faulty so after a new one I realized that was not the case. removal of the catch can was the fix. If I had to do it again I would only run the crank case one to a can and back in front of the turbo, but I decided to hold off cause I don't get much blow by at 9 psi.

Great bit of info there....

So I just finished installing my oil catch can. I removed the charcoal canister to make room. The can only had 2 fittings so I used a T to add the 3rd. 3/8 inch line from the intake pipe and PCV and half inch line from the crankcase because it was bigger. I plan on putting clamps on all the connections that havent been clamped yet. Here are the pics.

If you all need better pics let me know...just finished this so I was tired.

nice write up was thinking of doing this too, where did you buy yours from? And so you run the line from pcv, crankcase, and a line from where pcv line went into intake mani? or plug that?

Thanks

Plug it. Thats what im going to do once i have time for her again.

Its 1 line from the intake pipe, 1 from the crankcase and 1 from the pcv all to the catch can. I got it on ebay...it only came with 2 fittings so i made the 3rd with a T.

The nipple on the intake pipe for the turbo. Its a big nipple...and the line (3/8's inch) fit super snug on it. If you look at the bottom left of the last pic...try to see it on the intake pipe.

Some decent attempts here at fitting a catch tank/ breather system. It is so important that you use the correct diameter piping. Some of the stuff used seems way to small for our applications. 12AN fittings should be used. Also, Ive seen people shoving scotchbrite into their catch tanks. Make sure its the real stuff which is stainless. Cheaper stuff will rust and get sucked through! This is what i did:

First i prep'd a couple of cam covers:

this was then sent to welder to get 2 aly bungs fitted and original breather holes filled:

couple of coats of hammered black paint later they look like this:

catch tank also had 2 bungs fitted:

Im re-fitting the cambelt cover so the braided line wont foul on belt. It will be secured to the top metal water pipe so it nice n' tidy

No clue. They were on there when I got them from turbodremz..I think he mentioned what they were..but I forgot. Id like to get rid of them..and the inside of that pipe looks terrible lol..I gotta sand it down because it looks like a bunch of melted metal from a weld got inside.

Depends on what ID the line is. Alot of the universal cans you find on ebay etc have very small ID lines and fittings.

As long as it works right, doesnt really matter what it looks like.

Good luck buddy

Can you specify on ID line? The fittings werent small...they were pretty huge.

Edit: just capped off the PCV fitting on the manifold and the extra vac line from the charcoal canister..I might use this later for boost gauge. not sure.

I plugged the vacuum line it had at the source which is on the manifold.
The other line I extended with 1/4 inch fuel line down to the hole below where the canister was sitting-the original tubing it had is all hard so i ditched it. I joined them with a little fitting for vacuum line at the bottom.
