Default 1JZ wiring question...

Alrighty, got my 1JZ engine the other day, already dissasembled some things, etc. I was looking at the harness to determine how to extend wires while still retaining the stock firewall grommet. A lot of people say to extend the wires closest to the ecu, which i can understand due to the shielded wires. How did you guys go about this? Did u just extend the wires then pull it through the grommet?

I'll get a pics thread up soon when i source a decent camera.

That's what I did, but it's kind of a pain to feed them all through the firewall. Just be patient.

stagger the solder points as in dont cut every single wire 12"s away from the connectors. do ten or so at 12 then ten or so at 14 and so on. everything will get extended the same but it will be much easier pushing through the firewall.
