Default 2jz / sc400 swap guide

So ive done a bit of searching and cant find any useful information on how to swap a 2jzgte into an sc400. all i could find was, it would be more work. im not to concerned about that. i just need some information. im pretty decent at fabricating things, (i have a 2jz s2000) i was just hoping it would be a bit easier then that. for example taking an sc300 k frame and bolting it into an sc400. im not too knowlegable on this subject.... yet any help is appriciated. thanks! in advance

The SC3 and SC4 frames are exactly the same. You'll just have to get the right motor mounts. You'll need a new engine harness and then you'll need to modify the tach to get a correct reading.

yeah - xmember is the same - V8 mounts have a diff angle to them is all.
my understanding is the TT mounts sit the engine Higher -3.0 Longer Bore= Taller Deck height.

just Get SC300 mounts

I'm in the process of 1JZ SC400+ 5 speed driveshaft is gonna be my Hardest task - having one made or trying to locate a SC3 shaft.

Wiring up the Chassis side is what I'm dying to see when i get started.to see if its diff than SC300 + Mine doesn't have trac so thats one less thing to worry about I guess.

I was gonna do a 1j into the sc400. But if the 2j is as "simple" as monts and harness then its a done deal. Just send the wiring to dr tweak right? Can he do the 400 harness with the 2j harness?

You can use TT mount or SC3 mount but the TT mount are better than the SC3 mount.

Dr Tweak need is the body plugs of the SC400 ,so he will use those plugs on the GTE harness so it becames PNP to the Car.
2JZGTE swap in the SC400 is the same as 1JZGTE in the SC400 there is no difference.
And you will an SC3 cluster and some other stuff radiator, A/C lines, P/s lines, Overflow bottle.

I'm still curious as to why people on this fourm don't seem to do things themselves - granted I know some of it comes down to a facility to do it,...but wouldn't you rather know that You did it - and if anything goes wrong -YOU know where to look?

Wiring can't be that hard - and I can't see spending $500-$800 on a wiring job that should essentially plug in for the most part.DR tweak seems like he does great work but man - $800 could Be 2/3 of a Turbo Upgrade.

I hate Buying SOMEONE elses problems so I'd hate to know someone else worked on my car or whatever and Fixing all their Mess-ups if there are any.

Maybe I'm crazy but I will leave it at that - Good luck w/ your swap - I'm right behind ya,though 1JZ single Turbo 5speed here.

I know what you are saying but sometimes i don't look at thing like that.
When i was buying my engine i had 2 choices
1) Either buying a sludged up Soarer Engine, and send it to the machine shop for a rebuild which you won't know how much it will cost unless you wanna replace everything.
2)Buy a clean Chaser engine and send the harness to Tweak.
I picked #2 it would been easier and cheaper but I didn't want to spend $800 but i did.
Now i will not send my harness out again, I will do it myself.
And back then i didn't wanna mess with wires even now,but now i will do to save $75.
Even yesterday i was looking at "Wanganstyl" thread about the harness conversion.

im not to overly worried about the harness issue. i have a TT supra harness that i had to supply power too in my s2000 because nothing was compatible. so getting the engine running wont be an issue at all. the only thing id like to do is bring the correct wires from the sc400 body harness over to the engine harness. such as tach speed and starter signal. all the little bs. even if i cant do that i can run my own wires to the starter solinoid. I dont believe there is anything off of the engine harness that powers the body (blower motor) ext for the interior. please correct me if im wrong.

AEM ems (TT supra box)
USDM TT supra 6 speed harness
jdm supra motor completely taken apart fully built.
jdm supra head fully built. so dont have to worrie about the crappy egr or anything.
GSC S2 cams
new boostlogic oil pump
th400 (fully built, w hipster brake, reverse patern shift)
76mm precision turbo
undecided on witch rear im going with. most likely will have a street one and a drag racing one since there not to hateful of swapping.
stock gas tank will probably be removed undecided as of yet
i have an eliminator fuel pump 1400 hp cap. so i dunno if i want to use it or sell it : /

Default A few question for you

Ace9282 : A few question for you. Is this a JDM or USDM motor? Is it from an Aristo or Supra? Just asking because if it's from an Aristo the upper & Lower oil pan would need to be swapped with an SC300 Upper & Lower oil Pan. The only other thing that would need to be swapped or modified would be the lines to the rack different location. On the SC300 no change or modification is needed. The wire harness would need repinng and your good to go. Also there are two Supra TT MKIV motor mounts and brackets. A long & a Short. Check with GuickGS300 for the part number.
