$1600 might be a bit too good to be true IMO. Valve ticking might be due to improper valve clearance when he put in the 2JZ cams. An easy fix, but that's only if the cams are the problem. If the valves are the problem then that's an extra $500+ to fix. When you say it comes with the turbo manifold, does that mean no turbo? Make sure you know what you're getting so you can put some dough aside for new parts.

If he can confidently re-pin the harness to fit an SC, then i would go for that. I wouldn't jump on the deal overall, although it looks hella clean.
