Default SC300 w58 swap wiring question. NSS related.

Mainly what I need confirmation on is the neutral saftey bypassing....I read that some people leave the switch plugged up and start the car in neutral, only to have to put it in drive for the cruise to work.......I want to know the proper way to bypass the switch...

I believe I've got the reverse lights and the speed sensor handled...just dont want anything "Ghetto" as far as the NSS.

I'm running the auto ecu for now, but plan to get a 5-spd ecu in the near future.

Any help would be much appriciated.

And before you tell me "search", I have, for many months now leading up to my swap....The information on the swap threads on this site comes in bits and pieces....not one comprehensive thread on the entire board, thus this thread.....thanks for any help.

I had a 1993 and this is what I did for mine. Worked like a charm.

this will not fix your cruise control.

your ECU and "cruise control ecu" both need to see the car in "Drive" to allow the cruise control circuit to work, as far as i know.

i'm assuming you have an earlier SC. this shouldn't be too bad for you. unfortunately, i have a 99, so it's a little more complicated.

check out my thread titled 5 speed swap REVERSE LIGHTS. we have posted a LOT of info and diagrams in that thread about the 5 speed swap, cruise control, reverse lights, neutral safety switch, etc. and it should help. also, feel free to post any questions or findings in there.

On the early cars, fixing cruise is as easy as removing one wire from the cruise ecu. I posted that fix already here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...uise-back.html
