Default Lighting issues!

i drift, my car is low.
last thursday, my car wore through some of the wiring on the drivers side, pertaining to the headlights

i wired in a new piece of wiring, red/yellow to fix the issue on sunday, issue solved, i drove around.
after the super of bowls, i left, turn on my headlights, went about a block, it turned off.
i had to wire ground the yellow/ red and now it works, but i cant turn them off
here is the pattern.

the key
hs= headlight switch
hbs= high beam switch
lb= low beam
hb= high beam
tails always on

the problem
hs on; lb off, hb off,
hs=on, hbs=on; lb off, hb off
hs on, hbs= momentary(passing), hl on, hb on

i am stumped. check all relays and fuses, all good
