i always hear about this amsoil oil, but never see it in auto zone or advanced auto, i always used mobil1 10w-30 syn, or castrol 10-30 syn with mobil filter. i used to use fram oil filter, but in a comparison i saw, fram is junk.

I use Amsoil 10w30 which was specifically developed for turbo motors back in the 80s.

It's like $6/qt at Carquest autoparts

Amsoil recommends regular 3k mile oil changes in high performance applications...but I'm way over 3k miles on this change, and it STILL looks new and clean with a Toyota filter!

All this talk about oil and no one uses Motul? I think it's right up there with Amsoil. There has to be a good reason that race cars in JGTC, Le Mans, Rally, and many other race cars use it. Even the motorcycle guys use Motul oil and products.

My car is nothing close to a race car, but I like to use oil that the real racers use! I use Motul 8100 X-Max 5w-30 with Toyota filters.

If you read over the tests on oil. Royal Purple beats AMSOIL all day. Just because amsoil is gay and they dont sell it in retail stores doesn't mean it is a better oil. Ive been using royal purple in all my performance cars, never had a problem.

I've been using royal purple 20w-50 in my SC's and my 240sx 10w-30 when I had it. I get it around $6.50 a quart. And I've been using mobil1 oil filters.

Gotta love that purple stuff.

I recently switched from rp to mobil 1 5-40 esp and never looked back again. Castol is also a good oil for the price.
