2jzgte twins on 1jzgte block
Just curious if anyone here has ever tried this combination with their 1jz Sc before and if so does it run significantly better than the 1jz twins ?

I saw someone do it on SF. He just had to redrill one hole and I think it bolted right up after that. He was overboosting though due to the fact that one of the turbos (front probably) is not actuated (which is why you need two rear ones), but I don't think he noticed all that much of a difference. Maybe a little on the top end.

ok, i like the fact that the 2jz stock twins can boost to 18psi safely, but i read an atrticle and the writer said the 1jz twins is not meant to boost over 14psi unless youre using steel blades. but in australia, one guy said he took it to 20psi just to see if it would go that high, and it did. only thing happened was that he blew off the charge pipe.

Actually it's been done a few times. You can build a spacer plate that bolts onto the stock "W" manifolds (the 3 into 1) that stay on the 1JZ head, then a little dapater, that bolts onto each of the Aristo twins. Then fab up a downpipe and you're good to go. Some have even made the twin turbo sequential like stock too, but most just make both come on at the same time.

I've took the twins off my 1JZ MKIII once, with the engine in the car.
When I went to build the Aristo, I didn't even wait 2 hrs once I got it on its engine stand before I pulled the twins off the motor. I've pulled the twins off many cars. I don't even know how to put them back on, but it's suck a pain to take them off I don't even wanna try to put them back on!
So yes, I recommend, you just take thetwins off and go single. You'll save yourself LOADS of hassle and thank yourself time and time again.
