Default Future NA-T Project, have a bunch of questions...

ok so i have a 92 sc300 with 230k miles. I currently have a couple of 3rd gen supras so im really familiar with them. But the sc300 is a little new.

When i first got the sc it had a BHG and a few other problems which are now fixed. I recently purchased a partial na-t kit including manifold, downpipe and wastegate and i will be using a 60mm PHR stage 1 turbo thats coming off my built mk3. I'm only looking for about 400rwhp on an Auto but i'm really confused about which transmission to use.

My plans were to buy either a lower mileage GE motor and swap over a TT HG and boost that OR buy a GTE bottom end and use a GE head with a TT HG.

So i guess my first question would be what should i do? "fresher" GE or a GTE/GE combo?

Also i was planning on using an aristo auto tranny but i don't think the driveshafts will work? unless i get a custom one made? wat other problems would i have using that tranny? Am i better off using a 1jz auto? If so what would i hafta change when using that?

I'm sorry for all the noob questions and im sure i can find answers if i search but frankly theres so much info out there im getting a headache and would like to get some direct answers.

Thanks a lot for any help,
-emp.

Just for an idea. I am going NA-t on my car. Its a GE with a brand new head. Im shooting for 500+whp and not going to use a GTE bottom end.
If you are switching trannies, might as well go 5 speed (R154) or do a boostlogic trans. I had 400 on an aristo tranny, in an aristo though.
Use the 2jz. Its a great motor.
Engine management is going to be your biggest hurdle. Considering many people on here have piggybacks, im going to be the one to tell you not to waste your time. I am going AEM EMS. That is really the only way to go IMHO. Piggybacks work, however the SC has a closed loop ECU so you can really only tune it at WOT. I would do it right and go AEM EMS.

Hope that helps!

the stock auto tranny wont be holding 400 too long. maybe not even 350. get a manual swap or stronger tranny. and if you got the funds, go with a fresher block and head.

doesn't matter how many miles are on your motor if you do the basic maintenance on it.
I would have taken the BHG opportunity to just install a TT headgasket right there and you would have been done with just slapping on your kit, some fuel upgrades, and a way to tune.

no need for a GTE bottom end at any power level IMO. The best part about the TT is the head, if you really had the itch to frankenstein something. its really not necessary.
The TT auto trannys don't hold that much more power. go manual or aftermarket auto. enjoy.
